The new MU-31 highway Project, with an approximate length of 4,1 Km, started at the beginning of 2009. It will run along the southwest of Murcia city and will be mainly used by the traffic coming from the west of Murcia and heading to Cartagena via the A-30 or vice versa, improving thus the traffic in this area.
In order to solve the projection of the difficult capitals resting on piles, Alsina Group introduced the innovative SCAP system, able to allow the implementation of numerous capital types. Its very design is inspired on different Alsina standard solutions (Multiform formwork system and One-Sided Walls squares) combined with some newly designed components. The result is a highly flexible, safe and resistant formwork system, produced to facilitate and industrialize the tasks of formworking capitals.
The Alisply Wall system was used for the implementation of the side shuttering of the E-5 structure capitals. The system is supported by the lower platform of the SCAP equipment. Once the capital is concreted the material can be unloaded thanks to the descent wedges the system features, able to support service loads of 50 tons (vertical stress), facilitating in that way the formwork release. Once the formwork is released, the whole system can be placed directly on top of the anchors of the next pile without having to implement previous tasks, which increases significantly the productivity rates of the capitals formwork release operations.
The E-7 structure is actually under construction. It consists of two parallel boards supported by 40 piles in total. In this case the weight of the capitals is 110 tons with the added difficulty that each of them has a different slope varying from 0,98% to a maximum of 8%. Thanks to the high flexibility provided by the SCAP system the formworking of all these capitals can be done, if necessary, with the same equipment by simply changing the extension of the aligners to adapt the system to the new surface. This high flexibility feature can make the system into a market standard.
Confirmed since years ago as a company specialised in the implementation of Hydraulic Works Alsina has given proof during the last years of great progress in other type of Civil Engineering works and nowadays it is focusing its efforts in projects such as railways, roads, and bridges.
