On 13th November, Alsina Formworks organized a practical and theoretical training session for Labour Inspectors. Mr. José Luis Campillo, Barcelona Responsible for Inspection, also attended. This is a test sponsored by the Department of Labour that aims to give courses to Labour Inspectors on different Building topics. In this case Alsina was chosen to present all the subject matter regarding formwork systems. The training course took place at the magnificent facilities the Gaudí Institute of Building has in Badalona (Barcelona). Given the friendly relationship Alsina keeps with this organization, training sessions to different Construction professionals are usually held there.
Damià Pérez, Jacint Bassols and Jordi García were responsible for the direction of this course. It showed the basic concepts to have into account in the field of both formwork systems, horizontal and vertical, so as the inherent aspects regarding their integrated safety. On the other hand, special attention was paid to the most important global safety mechanisms designed to prevent collective accidents.
The first part of the session consisted of the theoretical explanations given by Damià, Jordi and Jacint in which, in a general way, the systematic of the formwork systems was treated so the attendants could have a smattering of their operation. Subsequently, at the exhibition Alsina holds at the Gaudí Facilities, the inspectors themselves had the opportunity of seeing and testing in-situ the concepts they had been explained during the talks.
During the day, the attendants were presented with a little cocktail at the end of which Mr Jordi Balagué, President of the Gaudí Institute, thanked Alsina for the organization of the course.
This session was beneficial for both, the inspectors, who could have a closer view of the formwork systems world, and the Alsina instructors, who had the opportunity of exchanging ideas with Labour Inspectors and of having a closer impression of the opinion this community has about issues regarding safety in the building projects.
Finally, the Labour Inspection congratulated Alsina on the high standard of the course and for having achieved the planned goals. The Inspection also showed its willingness to organize the course again and to extend it to Inspectors of other Autonomous Communities.
