Marine Drive Pumping Station in UK

Alsina is cooperating on a large scale Hydraulic Site in the south east of England, the main equipment used where is the company walls systems such as Alisply Walls, Alisply Circular and Vistaform Walls.

The site management has appreciated the previous experience of the Spanish firm in implementing this type of site and the result of our wall formwork systems.

The site consists of a pumping station with a diameter of 17 meters, buried to a depth of approximately 46 meters. This infrastructure will receive the wastewater from the west along the tunnel is being built in the center of the road. and take the future water treatment plant where Alsina Peacehaven has also collaborated.

As an anecdote comment that the discovery of Roman ruins at Fishbourne in 1960 gave birth to the history of the Roman occupation of the county and its implication in all Britain during the pre-Saxon period. Due to this they also conducted some research on the archaeological next of the new pumping station, before removing the topsoil and the sinking of the shafts.

Alsina is successfully running its first large-scale dam project in Santolea (Teruel)

Date: 2010
Type of work: Civil Work

More than a year ago, Alsina was the company chosen to supply the formwork equipment and the technical support for the Santolea Dam project in Teruel.
The Civil Works project consisted in raising the dam of the Santolea reservoir over the Guadalope river, in the municipality of Castellote (Teruel). It is a large-scale project including two dam works; on the one hand, raising the existing dam, and on the other hand, building a new tail dam in the reservoir. During this first stage, Alsina is completing the tail dam and is currently conducting the technical study for raising the existing dam.
The final height of the tail dam is 50 m, and its length along the crown is approximately 190 m. To carry out such a large project, it is calculated that a total of 65,000 m3 of roller compact concrete will be needed. The Alsina technical office, Alsitec has designed a solution for progressively implementing the dam project, by using steps that are 1.20 m high with an upstream and downstream depth of 24 cm and 72cm respectively. The working rate of the project was defined in laying small layers of compact concrete 30 cm high continuously, day and night, until the crown was reached.
The main formwork system that Alsina has chosen to implement this project is the Alisply Walls joined to the Vertical Multiform system. The versatile nature of both systems makes it possible to overcome the geometrical differences considered in the project, thanks to significant adaptation efforts on behalf of the Alsina technicians.

Decanters in Alquería de Aznar - Alicante

Date: 2010.
Type of work: Civil Work

Construction of two decanters for a truncated inverted pyramid-shaped purifier. The project was carried out using self-compacting concrete in a single position, which required complex beam to beam calculation and multiple highly-detailed assembly drawings to mark out each beam and each plywood panel that were cut to the exact measurements. The Multiform primary beams and aligners transfer the stress to the slab. At the same time, a large amount of Alisply Circular is used to make the paper mill´s other circular storage facilities. The client was impressed by Alsina´s effectiveness on this technically complex project.

ETAP Áramo Quiros - Oviedo

Date: 2009
Type of work: Civil Work

Treatment Plant with three main modules consisting of setting tank, fl occurator, oxidation chamber and fi lters area. All the walls implemented are straight with heights ranging from 6 to 9 m. In order to get them it was necessary to produce a specifi c modulation with many small-dimensions Alisply panels since there were many joints at different heights between the different structuresand because these same structures had many inner partition walls. In many cases, it was necessary to allow the implementation of the areas of One-Sided Walls because there were walls attached between the different tanks. Finally, the CL-40 Shoring system and the Alumecano systems were used for the implementation of several slabs and footbridges crossing over the tanks.

Sewage Treatment Plant - Madrid

Date: 2007/09
Type of work: Civil Work

Major project that required over 5,000 m2 of formwork equipment for different structures. It is specially noteworthy the 2500 m2 of Alisply Circular which was used to solve circular tanks up to 9 different diameters and heights. All this thanks to its easy bending. In parallel, the Alsina´s CL-40 Shoring System was used to run
multiple walkways and some solid slab.

SWDP Torrevieja - Alicante

Date: 2007/09
Type of work: Civl Engineering

Located between the beach of the shipwrecked and the natural park of La Mata (Torrevieja), the Torrevieja Desalination Plant is the biggest in Europe and the second in the world with the inverse osmosis technology. The work consisted of different structures of large dimensions containing many inner walls. The height of almost all of them is 6 or more meters although on being finally buried they seem to be lower. A total of around 100.000 m2 of walls were implemented. For the implementation of walls the option was Alsina’s Alisply system given the high complexity of their construction. Thanks to its great flexibility the system could be perfectly adapted to the different heights required due to the bended shape of the reinforcement being assembled.
Alisply Circular was used for the circular digester and Alisply Universal allowed the implementation of columns up to 11 m high which were concreted in just one go without any trouble. The Alispilar system was used for columns with smaller sections and up to 6 m high. From the safety point of view the bet was on the Alsipercha system and the displacements between different levels on site were made by means of the Access Stairways.

La Ranilla Sewage Treatment Plant – Seville

Date: 2006
Type of work: Civil engineering

Located on the plot adjacent to the existing Ranilla plant, the new sewage treatment plant has the capacity to treat 90,000 m3/day. This construction phase provides a water connection from the collection chamber of the Guadaira and Ranilla collectors to the new facilities. During the formwork phase, one notable element was the shoring system of the digester. To perform this process, the layout of the towers was closely studied on the plans so that the primary girders would fit in without any problems, forming completely continuous rings. Another important aspect to be considered was modulating the towers at height, to brace as much as possible with the horizontal members without exceeding the maximum spindle openings.
