Civil works: Railway works

AVE Albacete - Alpera

Date: 2010
Type of work: Civil Engineering

The works of the first phase of the platform section Albacete Alpera consists in implementing two-way platform Iberian wide section for the maintenance of rail freight and regional passenger services once they become operational high-speed line.
As there are unique elements to highlight two bridges under the A-31, pergola-like structures with lengths of 161 meters and 320 meters; 57 meters viaduct, hydraulic permeability, a structure with prefabricated beams, supported on piles and abutments, with a distribution of three spans of 19 m each, and one overtaking and train stations and one trivialization.

Valmayor Viaduct - Badajoz

Date: 2009
Type of work: Civil Work

During the first phase of the project the shafts of the 2 m diameter circular piles were made for the Valdecaballeros Viaduct (seven piles and seven lintels) and the Valmayor Viaduct (four piles and four lintels) in Extremadura. The lintels were made in the second phase. Due to the technical complexity, Alsina relied on its new SCAP system. The lintels were of different shapes, so the two cases were studied separately (Valdecaballeros and Valmayor). The general solution consisted of assembling 6 m one-sided wall bracket frames on different levels to keep the bars that join the assemblies from one side of the pile to the other from hitting each other. This drop is made between the first Multiform beam and the bracket frame, where the release wedge is positioned, by installing a 5 cm metal filler in this specific case. The working platform and formwork is made up of DUPN beams and HT-20 beams. The lintel formwork is made with Alisply walls. This type of SCAP solution, without 2.40 platforms, is an AD HOC adaptation for circular section piles.

AVE Alcoraya Section - Alicante

Date: 2008-2009
Type of work: Civil Work

Ambitious railway engineering project in which major piers, piles in special shapes and long walls are built. Several slabs were created for underpasses, cantilevers (using Alsina platform and CL-40 Falsework) and foundations. Both the UTE made up of Rover Alcisa-Ploder-Uicesa and the clean, Incomar Levante, were very satisfied by the service provided and the large number of technical solutions offered by Alsina throughout this important project.

Guinardó Station, Section 670 - Barcelona

Date: 2009
Type of work: Civil Work

Construction of a vault 70 m underground, using self-compacting concrete. The vault is approximately 21 m deep, 2.5 m high and 14 m wide. The Multiform system was used and was erected at the mouth of the vault. Once assembled in place it was transported across the vault to the point where concreting was to take place.

Railway By-pass in “Los Molles” - Uruguay

Date: 2007/08
Type of work: Civil Work

In 2001, the railway bridge of the Arroyo “Los Molles” (Km 294 to Río Branco) collapsed completely due to the heavy rain fallen in the region. In a fi rst tender for its refurbishment, only the North side Abutment was implemented. In 2007, Alsina took the responsibility of implementing this design and the missing elements of the new bridge were fi nally built (South side abutment and post-tensioned concrete deck). The design sets a 20 m free span between supports, the construction of the compacted embankment to access the bridge and its lining, the installation of the railway on the bridge and the replacement of the existing rails along 2.000 metres of railway (1.000 m of railway at each side of the bridge). Subsequently, the south side abutment, one of the main beams and the deck of the bridge were built. The fi nal project was a complete success and nowadays the traffic of trains around the area is completely normal.

AVE Albacete Bypass - Alpera Variant

Date: 2009
Type of work: Civil Engineering

The AVE Albacete-Bypass works at Alpera is an HST (Spanish High-Speed Train) railway stretch 41 Km long with a € 77 million investment. This project consists of several structures from which Alsina has studied two overpasses 37 and 54 m long respectively, with a total of 12.000 m3 of AR-80 Shoring system and a solid gullwing section deck.

Camarillas Railway By-pass - Albacete

Date: 2008/09
Type of work: Civil Engineering

Green field project consisting of a new railway platform designed to substitute the former one so the transit time consumed by goods trains gets reduced. Apart from three big viaducts with climbed piles and a special solution for capitols and large abutments, the project consisted of numerous under-bridges and overpasses for the service roads crossing the working site.
The design also had two false tunnels and a third tunnel, which due to its characteristics had to be implemented with an especial tunnelling machine.
