Canoas Lifting Station – Colombia
The Canoas Lift Station will be located in Soacha (Cudinamarca), in the same sector where the Treatment Plant will be built. It will pump 38,400 liters per second of wastewater and will also start up the city’s sewage tunnel system, which has required an investment of more than 1 billion pesos.
This mega-project will provide important economic impetus by generating more than 1,846 direct jobs and 738 indirect jobs.
The CANOAS lifting station is part of the WWTP of the same name, which will help cleaning the Bogota River. A BOX is being built to feed the WWTP and then discharge the treated water into the river. A distribution structure and a transition structure will be built to initially channel the water to the screening tanks.
This project will bring great environmental benefits to more than 7 million citizens, as the plant will reduce the discharge of pollutants (wastewater) into the Tunjuelo, Fucha and Soacha rivers, improving water, fauna and air conditions in the entire area bordering the Bogotá River and also guaranteeing the flow required for power generation.
The structure includes several reservoirs, with many walls almost 10 meters high and 80 cm thick.
For the execution of the work, Alsina provided its formwork systems: Alisply Manual Walls and Multiform Climbing System for the execution of all the walls in several phases, AR80 Shoring System and Multiform Horizontal for the execution of the slabs at double height.
The long service tunnel has been resolved with a formwork system consisting of AR80 Shoring system and Vertical and Horizontal Multiform, allowing the execution of vertical and horizontal elements in a single phase.
