Safi Wastewater Treatment Plant
Alsina Maroc participated in the study and design of the formwork solution for the SAFI WWTP. This is the first wastewater treatment plant in Morocco to use the technology of sludge treatment by thermal hydrolysis (THP).
The construction of this wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) began in 2021, with an investment cost of over 600 million DH (MDH).
Part of the National Program for Liquid Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment, this station will initially treat 8 million m3 of wastewater per year, and 11 million m3 by 2045.
Funded by the OCP group in partnership with the Autonomous Intercommunal Authority for Water and Electricity Distribution of Safi, this project is intended to provide alternative sources of water, which will be directed towards industrial use.
This project aims to protect the environment and depollute the coastline by preventing the direct discharge of wastewater into the sea, as well as the reuse of treated water for the industrial needs of the OCP and the preservation of fresh water resources.
The Safi WWTP is the first in Morocco to use the technology of sludge treatment by thermal hydrolysis (THP) for the reuse/recovery of sludge without any health risk in soil improvement.
Alsina Maroc conducted the study and design of the formwork for the civil engineering part, using several types of system including an effective solution with Alisply Circular systems and the Climbing system.
Alisply Circular is a formwork system for circular walls that can be manipulated with the crane and consists of a galvanized steel frame and a high-strength bakelite plywood surface. The modules are pre-assembled in the factory and just need to be given the desired radius on site. The panel integrates the necessary elements and no special tool is required to bend the bakelite plywood.
The Climbing System is the vertical formwork element that allows the structure to progress by successive lifts up to 6m safely and by resting on the already completed part. Its installation can be carried out with two anchoring systems: use of M-24 Bars or metallic cones with a lost tie in the concrete.
A big thank you to the SNCE team for their trust.
