Alsina participates in the construction of the coliseum at the north of Lima (Peru)

The project: multipurpose sports center in Peru

Alsina’s Formwork delegation in Peru has recently completed its collaboration in the construction of the Barranca Coliseum, a multipurpose sports complex located in Barranca, 200 kilometers north of the city of Lima, where it participated as a supplier of formwork, scaffolding and shoring.

The venue, which has become one of the most important ones in North Chico, covers an area of 10,000 square meters, has capacity for 3.000 spectators and has facilities for practicing various disciplines such as table tennis, martial arts, boxing, chess, volleyball and gymnastics routines.

Alsina: fast and efficient solutions for facilities construction

Alsina supplied several traditional formwork systems for the implementation of this project, as well as mixed solutions, especially in the area of the stands, with the aim of facilitating the construction process.

Thus, the Alisply Circular system was used for the construction of the semi-curved walls running around the enclosure and the sports court, and Alisply Walls Handset was used for vertical structures with variable sections of 25 and 30 centimeters thick and heights ranging from 2,70 to 5,40 meters. A mixed solution of the Mecanoflex System with the CL-40 Shoring system was used for the stands area.

On the other hand, it is important to note that Alsina facilitated the concreting or casting of concrete both for the stands and for the inclined beams running through them from the outside to the interior of the enclosure, which were approximately 10 meters long by 40 cm wide and 70cm height and were solved with the Mecanoflex System.

Finally the exterior facade around the enclosure was solved with a cantilever on which the stadium coordination and media facilities have been constructed.  For this purpose, we’ve used the CL-40 Shoring system at 7.50 meters in height and a Vistaform platform with 2.45 meters long HT-20 Beams.
