Alsina participates in the construction of the “Parc Glories” office building in Barcelona (Spain)

The project: office building in Barcelona

Alsina Formwork began in 2017 its collaboration in the construction of the “Parc Glories” office building, an emblematic project with extreme quality and sustainability finishes and technical specifications located in the 22@ area, the heart of the newest and most modern business district in Barcelona; concretely on nº 150 at Ciudad de Granada Street.

This project, which will involve a total investment of 77 million euros and is expected to be completed in 2018, will have more than 24.000 m² distributed in a 17-storey building designed by Batlle & Roig, with diaphanous plants of 1.800 m² and a 100 meters long façade, with pillars every 3 meters and perimeter girder, covered with ceramic tubes in green and crude tones. The facade that gives to the interior of the apple will have a vegetal cover to integrate itself in a municipal park.

This is a completely post-tensioned structure of 35 cm solid slabs with a 16 meters span between pillars, in a building that seeks to offer the highest space quality and environmental organization, opting to become the first office building in the city to receive the LEED Platinum certification, marking the difference with the existing office buildings offer.

Alsina: profitable and safe solutions for building

For the implementation of the project, Alsina has supplied a solution for the implementation of the pillars and the perimeter girder by means of their  Alumecano formwork system, as well as the C-160 climbing system, Alisply and Alisply Multipurpose formwork systems. Alsina has also made the specific underpinning calculation since this is a post-tensioned structure, specifically in the reduction of the plant from the 9th floor.

Alsina’s C-160 Climbing system allows piles and walls of climbing cycles with pouring heights of up to 4 meters, to be formed with total safety for the operators. The assembly of the climbing platform and its safety platform can be carried out on the ground, before positioning it on the wall or pile, or by placing the platforms in the anchorage rings and assembling the platform later. It can be set using either Alisply (straight and radius walls) or Vistaform and Multiform formwork systems, making it a very versatile but also safe system.

On the other hand, Alsina’s Alisply range includes several recoverable formwork systems for the construction of walls and columns. This is a resistant, versatile and compatible system with all other accessories from Alisply family systems, a fact that makes so much more profitable the formwork equipment on site.
The formwork surface of different types of Alisply is made of plywood, which offers many advantages over metal surfaces, such as lower weight, higher concrete quality, increased performance and greater resistance to inclement weather.
