Wastewater Treatment Plant Extension

1
Water Treatment
WE accumulate experience of more than 500 water infrastructures projects worldwide.

Alsina’s Formwork delegation in Panamá participated in the construction of the second module of the sewage treatment plant of a wastewater treatment plant in Panama City.

The project has had an investment of 219 million dollars and will increase the water treatment in the city by 2,8 m3 per second, thus improving the condition of the city rivers and coasts.

For the WWTP`s extension Alsina has provided all the necessary formwork to carry out the biological reactor wall consisting of two tanks of rectangular geometry in plan of 101.8 mx 36 m and a total height of 8.00 m., as well as the footbridges for pedestrian passage and light installations and 4 sludge recirculation channels from the reactor itself, where they built 100.00 meters x 70.00 meters tanks that are 4.50 meters high. They have also built a sand channel, implemented with our Multiform system, the disinfection tank with a “labyrinth” shape and buildings for pre-treatment, sludge and digestion.

Alsina: efficient and safe formworks

For the implementation of the project Alsina has supplied a large variety and quantity of their formwork systems such as Alisply WallsAlisply Circular WallsMecanoflexAlispilarMultiform system, CL- Shoring system, AR-80 shoring systemVistaform Slabs and Access Ladder.

Alsina’s Alisply range includes several recoverable formwork systems for the construction of walls and columns. This is a resistant, versatile and compatible system with all other accessories from Alisply family systems, a fact that makes so much more profitable the formwork equipment on site. The formwork surface of different types of Alisply is made of plywood, which offers many advantages over metal surfaces, such as lower weight, higher concrete quality, increased performance and greater resistance to inclement weather.

Alsina’s Mecanoflex system is an ideal system to adapt to any type of perimeter, since it solves merging hanging beams without any problem thanks to its flexibility. It is also a very versatile and easy to assemble system, which allows high performance.

On the other hand, Alispilar is a formwork system designed by Alsina to significantly improve the pipeline and work method for the implementation of standard columns in building projects. This is a light but sturdy system that is quick and easy to assembly and that due to its phenolic plywood and chamfer strips (to smooth the edges) provides a high quality concrete finish.

This is a very profitable system and adapts to all markets and typologies of projects, so it has been successfully used in many projects around the world since its inception and it’s gaining more and more followers everyday.

Finally, Alsina’s Multiform system, consisting of double UPN metal beams, wooden beams, strips and turnbuckles is one of Alsina’s most versatile systems, allowing “ad hoc” design of the necessary recoverable formwork to adapt to any geometry whether they are straight, curved or one sided walls, lintels or bridge boards.
