Rafael Escardo Bridge
Alsina´s Formwork delegation in Peru has collaborated in the construction of the Rafael Escardo section included in the Costa Verde Vehicular Bridge, located in Chorrillos district (Lima).
The project: transport infrastructure in the Peruvian capital
The Municipality of Lima has been carrying out the Costa Verde Bridge extension on the section between Rafael Escardó Avenue and Jr. Virú. This is an almost 3 kilometers long infrastructure that includes the construction of two vehicular bridges and a pedestrian one. This project will guarantee a direct route between the districts of Chorrillos and La Punta through the circuit of beaches of the Costa Verde junction.
Alsina´s solution
The vehicular bridge will be 80 meters long. This is a project carried out in two spans with central support; the bridge section is one of post-tensioned drawer type.
The bridge stirrups have been solved with the Heavy Alisply walls system and the C160 Climbing system, while the bottom of the drawer bridge has been carried out with the Multiform Bridges system and its attachment has been resolved with AR80 Shoring system with an average height of 16 meters.
Alsina: innovation and efficiency in formwork systems
Alsina has supplied a mix of shoring and formwork material in order to implement this project.
The Multiform Bridges system, consisting of double UPN steel beams, wooden beams, strips and aligners, is one of Alsina’s most versatile systems, as it allows “ad hoc” design of the necessary recoverable formwork so it can adapt to any type of geometry, whether straight or curved, as well as single-sided walls, lintels and bridge boards.
I order to carry out the bridge’s support formwork, Alsina has supplied its AR80 Shoring system, a very versatile and easy to assemble system for the implementation of this type of formwork. This is a multidirectional system of high resistance, due to its high load capacity (up to 8 TN / ft), which allows sifting any structural element in civil works.
On the other hand, Alsina’s Alisply Walls range includes several recoverable formwork systems for the construction of walls and columns. This is a resistant, versatile and compatible system with all other accessories from Alisply family systems, a fact that makes so much more profitable the formwork equipment on site.
The formwork surface of different types of Alisply is made of plywood, which offers many advantages over metal surfaces, such as lower weight, higher concrete quality, increased performance and greater resistance to inclement weather.
Finally, Alsina´s C160 Climbing System is an accessory designed to perform climbing tasks on vertical formwork. It allows building sections with pouring heights of up to 4 meters, to be formed with total safety for the operators. The assembly of the climbing platform and its safety platform can be carried out on the ground, before positioning it on the wall or pile, or by placing the platforms in the anchorage rings and assembling the platform later.
