Cosmos, a Major Residential Project in Montevideo
Cosmos, a multipurpose complex consisting of three buildings and a large central plaza that links them, is set to become a new icon for the city.
Cosmos represents a new way of living, working, and enjoying life. With an investment of over $220 million, this real estate venture is the largest in the country’s history. Spanning over 90,000 square meters, it will generate more than 700 new jobs, with construction being undertaken by the consortium of Norte Construcciones and Constructora Sudamericana.
Cosmos comprises three buildings: two are designated exclusively for office space, one with 31 floors and 1,250 square meters per floor, and the other with six levels and 1,650 square meters each. It is estimated that around 4,500 people will work in these offices. The third building will exclusively house residential units, spanning nine floors with more than 100 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
Additionally, Cosmos will include a two-level commercial walkway and an underground parking garage with a capacity of approximately 750 spaces.
For the implementation of the project, Alsina supplied its formwork systems: Alisply Walls, Springform Pillars, and Vistaform Slabs. Moreover, the Guided Climbing MF system was provided for the elevation of the Central Core. This system operates hydraulically, allowing the core to advance independently of the rest of the construction, without the need for a crane, and offering significant advantages. It enables the core to always be three levels above the slab.
